Sophia is a highly skilled canine trainer and dedicated animal advocate. She has a training background with working, pet, and rescue dogs! She graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Cobleskill with a Bachelor's Degree in Canine Training and Management, the first and only program of its kind. Following graduation, Sophia completed an internship at the Penn Vet Working Dog Center in Philadelphia, PA, where she worked in their research department and gained hands-on experience with working detection dogs. She participated in a variety of studies and gained knowledge on working dogs pursuing various career paths.

In addition to her academic and professional achievements, Sophia has been deeply involved in the rescue world for over 10 years. She has worked at dog rescues and sanctuaries, caring for dogs with behavioral and medical challenges who are often overlooked. Her experiences have deepened her knowledge of reading dog body language. 

​Along with Channeling Canines, Sophia currently serves as a trainer for H.O.P.E. Animal Rescue, where she applies her extensive experience to help assess, train, and prepare dogs for adoption. Her approach to training is rooted in science-based, humane methods. She ensures that every dog is treated with respect while maximizing results. She tailors each training program to meet the specific needs of the dog and client, working at the dog’s individual pace.

Passionate about canine enrichment, Sophia integrates engaging activities into each dog’s session and routine to improve their quality of life and reduce nuisance behaviors. She also emphasizes the importance of understanding canine body language, believing that clear communication between dogs and their owners is essential for successful training. While Sophia finds joy in watching dogs learn and grow, she is especially fulfilled by helping owners strengthen their relationships with their dogs. With a lifelong dedication to enhancing the lives of both dogs and their owners, Sophia continues to make a positive impact in the world of canine training and rescue.

Sophia’s dedication goes beyond each training session. She is committed to setting every client and their dog up for long-term success, which inspired her to create her own custom web app. After searching for options to improve efficiency and client communication, she found that existing softwares on the market lacked the personalization and functionality her clients deserved. Motivated by this gap, she designed a system that allows clients to easily schedule sessions, make payments, and track their dog’s progress all in one place. Her creativity, passion for her work, and transparent approach make her stand out and ensure that each client feels supported every step of the way.
